Gazania Sunshine is a perennial, annual, flowering plant native to the rugged, rocky cliffs of South Africa. The plants belonging to the daisy family (Asteraceae) produce bigger, brighter blooms. Producing large foliages, Gazania can tolerate drought and heat. They provide lush ground cover when planted on ground. Since they are from the rocky, hot South African mountains, the less maintenance plants grow well even in less fertile rocky gardens.

How to Care
- Planting/ sowing: Gazania should be spaced at least 1 foot apart to give enough space for individual plants to spread. If grown in a container, use a comfortable grow bag like the one we have. The seeds can be grown directly in the soil during march/ April when the soil is adequately warm. The other option is to sow the seed in a seedling tray and transfer it when the plants reach 5cm in height.
- Light: The growth and height of Gazania depends on the sunlight it receives. Being from a tropical region, the plant requires maximum sun.
- Water: The plant requires adequate water until it reaches 5 cm in height. Once the true leaves have flourished, Gazania can tolerate extreme drought and heat.
- Soil: Since Gazania is native to rocky South African highlands it can thrive well in any soil. However to see faster growth and full healthy blooms, it is advised to use loose, aerated, well-drained soil with compost.
- Fertilizer: Gazania can adapt to adverse soil conditions and does not require fertilizers to grow.
