Planting and care for Fermented Spinach  seeds

Sowing Fermented Spinach  seeds

  • Spinach seeds that have been fermented can be sown immediately in grow bags.
  • Choose a grow bag that is at least 5 inches deep and has a larger spread area. Ascertain that the grow bag's bottom has uniform drainage holes. Spinach grow bags are the best option.
  • To grow fermented spinach seeds, combine two parts garden soil and one part organic manure, preferably compost. 100% organic enriched dry vermicompost or 1 part garden soil, 1 part sieved and washed premium quality coco peat, and 1 part exfoliated vermiculite.
  • With your finger, push the 2-3 seeds into the medium and completely cover them with the surrounding soil.
  • Immediately moisten the sowed seed bed with a light shower from a watering can.
  • For the first several days, protect the plants from heavy rainfall or direct sunlight by using Garden Agro Shade Net.

Growing Fermented Spinach

  • Fermented spinach seeds germinate within six days, if not sooner.
  • If more than one seed germinates per grow bag, thin the seedlings and preserve only one seedling per grow bag.
  • In 10 - 15 days, the fermented spinach plant will be evident.
  • Fermented Spinach requires three to four hours of partial sunlight. It can also withstand winters in full light.
  • Sprinklers can be used to water Fermented Spinach planted in a terrace garden.
  • Before seeding, amend the soil with good quality organic manure at a 2:1 ratio. Organic fertilizer can be dried and Powdered Cow Dung Manure, compost, or vermicompost.

Harvesting Fermented Spinach

  • The Fermented Spinach leaves will be ready to harvest 25 – 30 days after seeding.
  • Snip adult leaves off with a scissor, leaving the plant's fleshy base for the next harvest.
  • Fermented Spinach can be harvested 4-5 times in intervals of 20-25 days.
  • Fermented Spinach's young leaves resemble spinach.
  • Harvest leaves while they are still tender. If Fermented Spinach is not harvested on a regular basis, it can grow into an erect bushy shrub.

Precautions while growing Fermented Spinach  plant

  • Improper growth circumstances such as excessive or insufficient watering, insufficient sunlight, or seeding too deeply can all impair the germination process of your Fermented Spinach. Ascertain that you are following the directions for sowing and growing appropriately to guarantee effective germination.
  • Excessive or insufficient water can cause the leaves of your Fermented Spinach plant to turn yellow. Assure that you are adequately watering your plant. Every day, water your Fermented Spinach grow bag with a little sprinkle from a watering can.
  • Lack of sunshine frequently results in your plant drooping. Fermented Spinach requires three to four hours of partial sunlight. It can also withstand winters in full light. Ascertain that your plant receives enough sunshine.

Common Problems affecting Fermented Spinach  plants and solutions

Keep an eye out for early indicators of insect/fungal/other illnesses. If you observe any of these signs on your plant, spray it with the proper medication.

Aphids are little insects that live in clusters on the undersides of leaves and stems. As a preventative step, utilize a bio pest controller.

Caterpillars adore this spinach as well. To eliminate these pests safely and without harming humans, animals, or beneficial insects, use a bio pest controller for sucking and biting pests.

Blue mold may also be treated with removal of infected leaves or with the recommended fungicides such as Pseudoplas Fluorescens Bio Fertilizer, Trichoderma Viride Bio Fertilizer, looking for a yellow spot on top of the leaf and a greyish-blue mold at the bottom of the leaf.

Most useful tool

Basically I am a bio-dynamic agriculturist and definitely vote for products like this. However, I say that I have planted the seeds in my roof top kitchen garden and they are sprouting.
