Sowing and caring of Vengeri Brinjal
- Use a comfortable large grow bag like Seed2Plant HDPE round 24x24 inch grow bags to pot the seed.
- The ideal potting mix for long brinjal includes 2 parts of fertile soil like Seed2Plant potting mix, 2 parts of sand, 1 part of compost like the Seed2Plant Vermicompost. The Seed2Plant potting mix has nitrogen-fixing fertilizer to support plant growth.
- Make a ½ inch hole in the soil and plant 1-2 seeds in each hole as each eggplant requires 30.5 cm to grow. Cover slightly, sprinkle some water. The soil should be loose and moist.
- The plant does not require direct sunlight for 1-2 weeks. The grow bag can be placed in a location with indirect sunlight. As the plants grow 6-7 hours of daily sunlight is sufficient.
- Water the plant on alternate days in cold seasons. Overwatering will kill the roots, so it is important to sprinkle water only when the soil is slightly dry. In summer plants should be water 2-3 times a day according to dryness.
- The seeds take 1-2 weeks to germinate.
